Unplanned visit

I always used to see the Imperial War Museum (IWM) from a distance and had reservations to go inside and have a look. My beliefs and principles are so strongly against war and glorifying this destructive and inhumane act… However, the genius, self-explanatory architecture of the museum’s exterior pulled me in last week (despite the kids opposing the decision). Am I glad to make this impulsive decision and go for an adventure of a different sort?
Quite contrary to my expectations, the whole purpose of the museum (in my opinion) is to show the ugly and horrifying face of the war in general. The “big picture show” was the highlight of the day. This award-winning 360° experience (proudly unique to IWM north) which is shown on the walls of the main exhibition space tells stories of the people who are affected in the war torn areas of the world. The biggest surprise of all was when my 9year old and 4year old made me promise to take them to this museum again this week.
As I am not a skilful photographer and the photos I took look as horrifying as war itself, I am not going to share them with you. Instead I put the link below to see what is going on in the IWM.
